On topic, I heard that some went out on short rides and did not rest. Others drank beer or wine while still others went in search of tainted beef.

It's the only day of the Tour that I watch. Nothing else in the Tour I can identify with. The distances day after day, the speed, the non-stop efforts, the cheating, the fans going nuts over people riding their bikes, the traffic yielding... I think it's all fake, somewhere there's a sound stage where they're filming all of this for some sinister reason known only to the french.

The Truman Show on bikes. I guess that' why Tinkleoff Saxo got so p.o.'d at the moto following them when they were pushing AC uphill after his crash. Only after a blatant 10 second push was filmed did they start to fiddle with his rear brake.
