What I need and will make me happy in the long run.....A gravel bike with sensibly sized tires, a sensible gruppo, and sensible geometry.

The good time girl I spend the night dancing with at the club with (in my mind), but who will mistreat me and leave with another guy....A Gaulzetti Corsa with EPS and stupid deep wheels on way too skinny of a tire.

Yet I still want her. :help:

Your what you should be buying/riding in your next bike vs. the bike that makes no sense but you want anyway???

.....and you Corsa owners. I hate you, so just keep moving down the road.

Should purchase: Scott Solace, Giant Defy or similar, probably with 105.

Rather urgently want instead:

Realistically I need to replace my commuter/cx/mtb slash whatever I wanted it to do, but I long for a fast bike...

Should get this (this is the bike I had to sell)

Those bars are not right... but I totally want a 20" mini/folder as well, with HED Jet 451 wheels. Even a Bike Friday Tandem (I could ride with my 6 year old). Something about those little wheels. Or, I just want all the bikes?

But for my answer to this thread, I'll say a raw lugged stainless road machine with Super Record (pre-2015) and Boras. It makes no sense, but I still want it.

I hope your wife doesn't read this when she gets back in town! Of course, you could just tell her you were missing her greatly and daydreaming about her.

For me, the perfect combination of impractical (I already have two road bikes), fiscally irresponsible (goes without saying), and extremely desirable has to be a Speedvagen roadie with all the upgrades.

I just love that bike
If that's the same one on display at ACF I've had impure thoughts of it over coffee :)

An A Train. Alex is a very talented young builder.

He's done some work for me on a frame and he's an absolute joy to work with.

Im sure!!

They actually have a Macho King on their wall now that's more in my price range if not my size (and not anywhere near as nice as that A Train)

Yeah, I've looked at the Macho King as well.

It's actually better suited for the terrain I am riding on the last couple of years.

I'd like to get a couple of years out of my Merckx cross bike before I try something else though.

My n+1 mentality would cease to exist after acquiring THIS.

Is that even possible?

Well, since like the "good time [bad] girl" the OP referred to, the lusted-after bike changes from time to time, right now, for me, it is this:

Why not? In fact, someone near this (http://australia.backpage.com/SportsEquipForSale/1500-moots-comooter-titanium-bike-with-rohloff-hub/4845229) should check to see if it is legit, and grab it if it is.

I should have mentioned, this would be Porsche Mexico Blue and the tires would be tan. The deda parts and shamals would be the dark/black versions.

I would round it out with a black slr, black fizik tape and black keo 2 max pedals.
