i don't know anything about rim design, but while i love the box section aesthetic of the rim, i wonder how they hold up under rough use. specifically cross courses or rocky, rutted, fireroads.

any insights?

I'm 240# and run a 36h set on Campy hubs. They have proven to be extremely durable thus far, being used primarily on the road with a few off road excursions. The short x-section makes for good comfort as well, more so than a 36h set of similar weight Synergies. At ~490g there's a lot of metal there so with a quality build you should be fine.

Buddy of mine has been beating on a pair for the last year or so. They're tougher than they look

Never used them for CX but have them on my gravel grinder.
I just built my 3rd set with TB14s (all 32h) and absolutely love them.
I am 210+ as well and they have been bomb proof so far.
