I know he is still young, but he was a little obnoxious at first, a coupple of years ago. He's matured, and is just such an all around Bad-A$$. This picture is awesome.

which one's the brake cable, i don't need those. I don't always slow down or stop, but when I do, I prefer to do it hockey style.

Fixing a broken scram lever, imagine that.

Why do mechanics on a spam equipped team get paid more than those with Campagnolo or shimano?

Because they have to work twice as hard to keep their riders in the tour! :)

Because these guys are working on and with cutting edge components, leading the way in innovation!! :)

"When the best cycling teams in the world ask to ride SRAM RED 22 and Force 22, when the world’s greatest Tour de France winner, the top Classics rider, the world's fastest sprinter, the fastest woman, and the fastest bikes at Kona roll with RED 22, it’s a sign that you are doing things right. SRAM’s best in class road componentry has conquered nearly every race in the world and continues its rise as perhaps the most successful gruppo in history. At SRAM we remain focused on improving the riding experience, we will never stop innovating, and making componentry for people that love to ride."

These top riders ask to ride Sram! :)

If "world's fastest sprinter" is Cav (likely who they're referring to), he doesn't ask for it. He wants it off. ;)

Straightening his lever after a crash.

I try to find that sweet spot where they won't move from torquing on them with riding, but I can still wack them with the palm of my hand to straighten out if I should crash.

Here you see Peter demonstrating how thoughtfully Sram designed their shifters, he's just finishing installing a tampered with brake cable while still in the saddle.
There was some reports of a person disguised as a Sram mechanic tampering with Peter's shifters. Several reported that the person had what seemed like a Campy tattoo on this forearm.

What he is doing is once again showing that despite his amazing physical talent he has not matured enough mentally as a professional bike racer to capitalize on his immense ability. He has already lost two stages in this Tour be utilizing tactics that prevented him from winning. In both cases he went off the front on a descent within a few km of the finish, the first time by himself and the second with vanaverment from bmc. He needs to learn patience, he could have won both of those stages from a sprint out of the group or at least playing off the attacks from other riders. The first attack rarely wins in those situations. The first time he wasted energy by himself and didn't or couldn't respond to Nibali's attack. Who else in that group was going to do the chase to just be beaten by him in the sprint, that is right no one and Nibali wins. The other day when he finished second in a photo finish he should be thinking about how much energy he wasted by going with the bmc guy who everyone knew was not giving 100% to force him to pull to the end and then jump him. As it was he could still sprint in that group once they got caught but what if he had the extra energy he wasted by attacking again at a bad time??

And the picture!!! If you are having a mechanical and you are at the team car to get a wrench for everything that is holy in bike racing just hold onto the car and get a free ride while the mechanic does the work or at least pretends to do the work. Save your energy when you can legitimately do it in the Tour. If he didn't want to change bikes ok but at least maximize your time off the back. Someone please take this kid aside and teach him to be a professional!! He has won a lot of races but he could have already won a lot more if he had just a little bit of tactical sense!!

That is why I said pretend to do the work. The mechanic can always put a hand on the back of the saddle giving a push while he pretends to look over a "sticky" rear brake.

Or just change the bike after a crash. I know he has the skill to mess around with the brake lever while doing a wheelie backwards but why waste time and energy when there is a better way!!

SRAM: We're like Lucas Electrics for Bikes.

I was going to let this comment slide, but I just can't. This comment is insulting to Lucas!

Just kidding - I did my time replacing various Lucas bits on Austin-Healeys, MGs, Triumphs and Jaguars back in my formative years. And I have the original version of SRAM Red on one of my bikes. It's held up fine for me, although I prefer the Shimano on my other bikes. And the drivetrain will stay quiet for a long time if I use either Too Tall's NFX chain lube or Chain -L No. 5, as opposed to staying quiet for about 10 miles if I use any other chain lube.
