So I've been kicking around this idea for a while but since I live alone essentially (my 4 year old can't tell me no) I decided to finally jump into it. I grabbed a junk 70's raleigh fro a couple bucks from a buddy and went to town.

Probably going to put some mulch around it and plant something that will grow up the frame.

Here is a picture of my boy just for fun

That's sweet, although you might remove the chainring/grind down the teeth in case someone's poodle falls on it by accident.

That's awesome. I think you're on to something and might make a few bucks on etsy.

Nice job. I've been thinking of doing something similar. My idea is to put the mailbox on a rear rack, fix the fork solidly while allowing the frame and mailbox to pivot on the fork. This would allow the box to pivot out of the way when the snowplow blasts it with snow. I remounted my mailbox three times last winter.

There's a sixteen year old just waiting to trash that thing with a baseball bat in your future.

There's a guy who lives near my girlfriend who has just a fork and wheel painted a dull orange upside down on top of a post next to his entrance/mailbox. Nice touch.

Very Nice!

Perhaps some postcards in the spokes?

I'm not too worried about it getting smashed its a quiet place I don't think that will be a problem. Here are a couple more shots. Its really nothing fancy just some metal strapping to hold it to the bike. And some plumbers putty in the headset.

I think I'm going to epoxy the brake levers up and run a chain into the ground.

I was going to put mine together like that on a rear rack but I as afraid it would be too low for the mailman It needs to be at 41-45" off the ground according to USPS.

Thread drift, but I need some parenting lessons if your 4 year old doesn't tell you "no"

:)

That's super cool, I wouln't mind recycling an old frame to make something cool like that
