Got my eye on Richard Sachs Road Frame that has the rear brake cable bosses at about the 10:00-10:30 position on the top tube. Surfing the web, and looking at other Sachs road frames, I've noticed many Sachs frames the same way. Is that the normal position for those bosses on his frames? I'm used to seeing them at about the 7:00 o'clock position on most road frames. Thanks in advance. -Jeff N.

My two frames that Richard built for me have the rear cable exit at about 10 - 10:30 position.

I think it makes a smoother line to the brake on one hand = looks good.

But they also stick out sideways more = no big deal.

I prefer them downunder.
