So, I was looking at this picture in cyclingnews. The article was about Renshaw picking up where Cavendish left off in the team as a protected rider for the sprint. Then, I enlarged the picture using the wonderful feature of my android tablet by simply spreading my fingers...

That's when I noticed the warm and fuzzy gesture that Cavendish was making towards the person who took the picture, I can only presume.

Perhaps, like Sir Bradley Wiggins, he's all class and is just a misunderstood c**t.

Just to clarify...I wasn't expecting Saint Cavendish to wear a robe...:p

I have made similar gesture often, both past and present, all done out of love, of course.

The only reason I posted this is I thought it was funny that the photo caption and the story didn't quite match up with picture (maybe they did :p) and it took me by surprise. That was it.

Context is needed - was the photographer a friend, a wanker standing in the street, called him a name, etc.

No, he's no saint. But a talented guy who has had some humbling experiences the past few years.

But in Britain flipping the bird is two fingers. I know this because after moving to the US 16 years ago it took some time during bouts of road rage to flip just one finger instead of two (joking).

I wish he'd followed Kittel's wheel instead of trying to take out Gerrans. The sprint finishes would be a lot more entertaining this year.
