Does anyone have experience using 28s on a caad10? I'm thinking about running a set of conti 4-season 700x28 on a23s for the colder months and wondering if I'll have any fit issues. Thanks in advance!

I did 28s on a caad9 with the slice fork.

Depends on the rim, shouldn't be an issue. I think the main thing is the height of the tire, width shouldn't be an issue. I seem to recall a buddy of mine cramming (and I do mean cramming) some 30s into his. But I wouldn't recommend.

Forgot to mention that I would also like to use sks raceblades. This might be cutting it really close.

it's a close one (michelin 28's rub for me).

i too have the sks raceblades, and they seem to only work with 23's... but YMMV.

FWIW Conti 4-seasons aren't even close to 28 mm in width.
I love the tires, don't get me wrong (they're my go-tos), but they generally measure closer to 26 mm (for at least 4 or 5 different rims on which I've mounted them).
So, if you are pretty sure you can mount Conti 25s, then I'd bet you'll be able to mount Conti 28s no problem.

Also, somewhat related, Conti 4-season, 4000s, and Gatorskins all follow this trend, in my experience:
The 23s are more like 25s.
The 25s are just like 25s.
The 28s are more like 25s.
See a pattern?

Well yeah that changes it. Like someone said, the Conti 28s aren't full 28s, but it might be a "try & see" kinda thing. 25s shouldn't be an issue though.

Lol at the Conti width assessment. So true though. Kind of a similar tale with Vittoria as well, at least with Open Pave.

Thanks, this really helps. I used raceblades with 700x25 gatorskins over last winter without any rubbing.

Yeah I'm 99% sure you'll be fine then.

And if that pesky 1% happens to pan out, I'd be happy to purchase the 28s from you :-)

Just checked and my gators are 23s, so 28 4-S might be tight after all.

I can barely clear 28s on my CAAD5 (real 28s, Schwalbes, not Contis), but no way could you get race blades in there.

I'd like to use raceblades in the future on my CAAD 10. I have used 28c tires (conti 4 season and scwalbe ultremo zx) on both narrow and wide (archetype) rims, with minimal issues (it's a bit tight with the archetype/schwalbes) and the bottom of the fork crown is scratched up a bit from chip seal, but I'm not going back to narrow tires any time soon..

i know gatorskins run a bit smaller. 25c measures 24 and 28c measures to 27. assuming GP4s are the same. you can probably run 25c with cruds.

tires always seem thinner when i first mount them but after a couple months or so and repeated inflation, my tires will tend to get wider. usually start more rounding out from the sidewalls. i dont measure but on my track bike the tires will start to rub on the chainstays after a while

I guess I'll have to find a 700x28 tire and experiment with the fenders. Thanks everyone.
