Seriously thinking about switching from standard (130BCD) crankset to compact. I currently have FC-7800 and am looking into either FC-7950 or FC-6750. The rest of the drive train (brifers, BB, FD, RD, cassette & chain) would still all be 7800.

Does anyone have experience in similar switch? Shimano document shows no information on how compatible these two are but I'd imagine it should just work. May not be as good as a 7900/6700 drive train but should be every bit as good as a 7800. Would that make it an A-compatible or a B-compatible?

Any comment or experience?

There should be no problem changing the crankset, as they are all Shimano 10 Speed.
All you need to do is adjust position of front derailleur and possibly shorten the chain

Plug and play....lower front der, take a link out of the chain..go ride.

And for just above..even a 11s crank would work just fine..the opposite, 10s crank onto an 11s system..may get some chain/fder rub...but 11s to 10s no problema.

Direct crankset swap out. Front der properly adjusted. Check everything. Go ride.
