I am interested in picking up a Stag. Upon reading some reviews, I found one review that said the Stag doesn't carry front loads of 5+lbs that well. See here.

Is this the concensus of those with the Stag? I was planning to set it up with a big Acorn bag up front with maybe a small saddlebag for tools and such in the rear. This review has me thinking I should look at another frame. If anyone with a Stag could chime in, I'd appreciate it. Never had a low-trail 650b, so I've got nothing to compare this to.

Thanks.

A question better suited for the rCog group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/rcog) but you probably won't find a simple answer. Owners have put low rider front racks (http://footils.org/2013/07/25/rawland-stag/) and even set it up as a camping bike (https://www.flickr.com/photos/ejasongibbs/sets/72157634927627737/with/9439355124/).

I'm a Stag owner (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=132736) and always ride with my Acorn front bag and find that it handles this capacity fine. I've had a 6 pack and a u-lock in there as well and it's fine for zipping around the city but I wouldn't ride 200k like that. It really depends on what you're planning on carrying on a regular basis.

What I'll be carrying---Probably the usual for a 100-300k rando event. Nothing crazy heavy.

Your Stag looks awesome. Especially with those fat Vee Rubbers on. Seems like a very versatile bike.
