I am trying to plan a week riding with my wife and kids in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Our friends with kids want to do a bike path along a river from Tolmezzo to Grado. Has anyone here ever done this? Or part of it?

We would be two families with little kids credit card touring. My older two (elementary school age) kids are solid riders. The 4 year old will be on a trailer bike or something.

Italian friends gave me this link
http://www.magicoveneto.it/friuli/bike/Pontebbana-Tarvisio-Gemona.htm

I found this in English
http://www.italiantouristoffice.se/sv/docs/571.pdf

I know this is not usual paceline stuff, but maybe someone here is familiar with the path and can give some info.

Thanks! Happy riding! Watch out for jerk teenagers throwing full cups of ice at you!

I just returned from there two weeks ago. My wife has family in San Danielle.
I am only familiar with the road system and not the paths. I was in Tolmezzo as a starting point before climbing monte Zoncolan.

The pamphlet looks like it has the best information.

What exactly are you requiring?. Confirmation that the path exists?.

Is the path in good repair and would you take children on it for a week bike tour? La ciclabile è quella il pezzo italiano è da Tarvisio a Grado, mi impegno per capire se è adatta ai bimbi, quanto è lunga, se c'è un treno eventuale, da dormire, ecc. Grazie!

I did ride on a section of it and it was in very good shape. My cousin took me on a section through Bordano. The path looks just like the web site you linked to.

Does anybody know any cycling guides familiar with the FVG area? We're trying to organize a trip next summer.

Thanks!
