View Full Version : For all you Parlee owners - Replacement seattube collar/clamp for Z4

So I was fiddling with the saddle height on my Parlee Z4. I haven't quite reached the recommended 5NM torque on the clamp before it snapped one of the two thin metal bands. Parlee says they have stopped making these and does not have anything to sell, not even a used one.

Does anyone know of a good replacement seattube collar for the original? Z4 takes seatpost of 31.6mm in diameter and I measured 38.3mm for the OD of the seattube at where the collar is installed, without the collar clamping down, of course.

On another note, if someone has something I can use, I'd be happy to purchase it from you. (Or maybe this should be another thread in the classfified?)

Thanks in advance.

I have two extra seat post clamps for the Z3. Will that fit? They have a single band with "PARLEE" etched into them. One silver, one black.

z3 clamp will not fit z4. or at least it didn't used to.

op: how old is the z4? on my z4 i used to use one from soul kozak. call fairwheel bikes in az, they'll set you up with options and know what to do (esp. since they used to carry the frames).

Mine is made in 2007/2008. The ID of the broken seatpost clamp measures 37.2mm. From what I see on the internet, a 38mm clamp would work. Fairwheels in AZ used to carry Soul-Kozak but no longer. I actually can't find it anywhere on the internet. SC9 or SC11 from KCNC are 38.2mm but I have not seen any feedback on these. I'd go for Soul-Kozak if I run into one of them. I also called a few of the Parlee dealers in the SF Bay Area without any luck.

Anyone cares to share more of your experience?

Thanks,

Ralph

my s-k clamp was 38mm. i bought it from him in poland originally (took awhile to get here), then once fairwheel started carrying them i got a couple more for other bikes. they're awesome, strong, and light. if you can find one, get it. the original parlee z4 clamps (the thin 2-band things) were garbage.

Parlee directed me to Fairwheel bikes for the Tune 38mm clamp.

Works like a charm - lightened my bike (by 2 grams, maybe...) and my bank account (by much more).

The Tune clamp is super nice, very solid and looks pretty sweet.

Good luck

Soul-Kozak has stopped producing the seatpost collar in 38mm. They still has two in stock but wanted more than USD$100 for them. I went with the KCNC SC9 in 38.2mm from Fairwheel for 'mere' $24 plus 10% off. It came in today and worked great, Nice looking, too.

Thanks for all the help.
