Decent game - pk but no yellow - kinda strange.
As an aside - did you see that G. Rossi did not make it onto the Italian team - wonder if he is second guessing himself for trying out for the US squad.

He is not fully fit. If he had not gotten hurt (again) he'd be on the plane, and very deservedly so. It's definitely not a case of him not being good enough for Italy.

He's had so much bad luck, it makes you wonder. He'll be "only" 31 in 2018, and the Azurri's history books are loaded with strikers whose careers had been written off long before.

Maybe, but i am not convinced his non selection was fitness/injury related = he played the last 4 games for the viola (scored 2 goals). Played 70 minutes against Rep of Ireland. Not sure why he was not selected - reminds me of when Baggio was not selected - i donno - fitness? - Ray Hudson stated "Rossi looks as fit as a butchers dog".
Agree with your last sentence - Cassino is proof.

Let's hope that was the auto-correct, more familiar with WW2 battles than formerly fast-living calciatori . . . ;)

he played the last 4 games for the viola (scored 2 goals).
He played 18, 26, 36 and 61 minutes in those games. Clearly, he is a player still being eased back into action. Since he had led the league in scoring prior to the injury, and has been capped thirty times for Italy, it's plainly not a lack of class.

reminds me of when Baggio was not selected
He was 35 and had torn his ACL twice that season.

Yep, everyone knows the likes of Sahin or Calhanoglu can't score :)
