View Full Version : What do you do with all the cycling odds & ends you have amassed over the years?
Call it Spring cleaning I guess -- the garage is getting a bit crowded.
So what do you with all this old cycling stuff, especially all the odds & ends you'll never use?
I am not looking to make money, I just don't want them to end up in a landfill.
Thoughts?

If you have a local bike non-profit or co-op, then I would go there.
Here is St. Louis we have BWorks (disclosure: I volunteer there) which runs an earn-a-bike program, a creative writing program, and an earn-a computer program. The sale of donated bikes and parts helps fund the children's programs.
Generally, it's a win-win-win for all involved.
I'm not sure if there is anything in the VA Beach area…but…there are definitely organizations in the DC area that we partner with at times.

Steve Garro, a builder that post over in V Salon collects parts and sends them to Mexico I believe. Check over there for more info. Local co op is always a good idea.

There is a shop in Richmond that operates a nonprofit, http://www.richmondcyclingcorps.org maybe see if they need any of it.
The guy who started it is a top notch fitter as well.
