Hi Biker,

i am from germany and this is my first question in the forum - so i hope you will understand me !

Last week i got the chance to purchase a serotta cst mtb but the stratos seems to be defect or unrepairable.

Now, I have a question to the stratos shock used in the serotta cst - are alternative shock's possible - maybe from DT Swiss - or is the stratos the only shock which can be used in an cst frame? Does anyone knows the length of the shock ?

Many thanks

Juergen

http://www.stratashock.com/main.html

Serotta is listed.

answering the emails. You may wind up having to call them to get an answer. I have always liked their shocks except the AR-1 which had a 50% failure rate. I also think that emailing Serotta might give you the answer you need. Anyway, good luck on the hunt,

I have had a CST for a number of years - the only shock that you will find is the Stratos.......because the frame doesn't have a pivot, it puts an asymetrical force on the shock which wears out the cylendar. You can flip the shock every month and get more use out of it, but you are looking at having it rebuilt every season for about $140. Stratos has gotten better - you can email them and get a RA #(tech@stratosusa.com) but they are taking August off, so you will have to wait.
