He passed away this weekend.
Such a great man who has certainly left his mark on many.

For those who don't know about Ezra, here's the mini-documentary that was made about him. (http://vimeo.com/73428297)
and his website: Teaching Cancer to Cry (http://www.teachingcancertocry.com/?page_id=870)

I'd unfortunately only had the pleasure of knowing him through his blog, but I felt connected to him nonetheless, and I'll miss him.

This is sad to hear. I never met him either but always looked forward to his blog updates. Such an interesting and talented guy on so many levels it seemed.

A life well lived indeed.

Rest in peace, and an end to pain.

Wonder how many followed his blog...

I had the pleasure of meeting Ezra through a mutual friend when he visited the Bay Area several years ago. I was already familiar with his beautiful work through Flickr and subsequently, kept in touch via email and through his blog.
He always managed to stay as busy as possible and his creative energy and output helped elevate his spirit throughout his difficult journey.

The world will be a little darker without his light.

I also only knew Ezra from his blog and Facebook, yet I feel like he was speaking directly to all of us as his friends. His life was too short but was filled with accomplishments. Ezra seemed to excel at whatever he pursued. I wish his family all the best and send them my thoughts and prayers.

Sad news. As many, I followed his blog and his honesty and bravery were extraordinary just like his life. RIP Ezra.

Been following him since getting back to riding. The cycling community lost a great one.

all of the above, plus one.

I only stumbled upon his blog after he had been given the death sentence, and his discussion on 'fighting it' vs. choosing to live with dignity to the end, really hit me.

rest in peace, fastboy.

I worked with his sweetheart when he was diagnosed. Periodically I'd read through months' worth of blog posts - astounded at what he was going through and how he was able to document his work, life, and health with such love and grace - a true artist.

It seemed that he packed more life into 40 years than most people do into 80.

Godspeed, Ezra.

I'm fortunate to call Ezra a friend. Not a close friend, but a friend nonetheless. I found out the morning after he passed. He loved bikes dearly and his spirit was fearless.

This photo of the crew we had gathered in Austin in 2007 speaks to his spirit. RIP, Ezra.

Ezra's in the middle, on a Surly build (just before he started building himself) he dubbed "The Thunder····er."

Agreed, checked a few days ago for similar reasons. Always looked forward to reading his blog. He had more enthusiasm for life in his little finger than most of have our entire lives. Sad to hear, and I'll raise my next drink to him.
