The only man to get penalized for having ecstasy in his bloodstream during a race.

1.4 blood-alcohol? Something wrong with that. If they meant to say .14 that's still fairly wasted.

Did not happen at a race. He was off for months recovering from a knee injury.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm thinking that they must be using different units than we're used to in the states.

Does anyone know for sure what units they use in Europe?

this type of repeated behavior explains much in the way of his lack luster career despite his beyond superb physical abilities.

move the decimal 1 column to the left and we see the legal limit as we would state it in the USA is .05 compared to our .08. So .014 is pretty high anywhere.

That should read 1.4g of alcool per litre of blood (ie quite packed).
