I've used a Suunto (bought from SRM) and a Polar fine with mine. I don't know what HR chip it has in it though.

Suunto will undoubtedly be the most comfortable!

The suunto wont work with the pcv. You will need an uncoded polar...they a out there. I will see if i have one laying around that still has battery life left in it...

If i do, its yours free, but it may only work for a short time, at least younwill know what to replace it with.

Ill check in the am...

The suunto wont work with the pcv.

Does too.

I have one which I bought from SRMusa and works fine.

I just want to clarify something so you dont go off and buy the wrong strap...the three Coded Suunto straps that mate to my pc 6 and pc7's , do NOT work with my pcV...i checked them all last night.

SRM may be able to sell you a noncoded Suunto strap, but its not the norm.

I have used the non coded polar straps for years with my pcV's...

I have two of them, but one is dead....and one i need..

You should be able to pick the up new on the bay for about 40.00.

Hope this clarifies.

FWIW, I have a Suunto "Dual" HR strap that works my PCV, PC6, and PC7.

Note: There were two generations of PCVs. If the serial number has a "P" in it, it has a coded Polar chip and will work with coded Polar HR straps (T31) and the Suunto Dual. If there is no "P" in the serial number, any non-coded strap will work.
