Ale-Jet pips Boonen! Let the Fun Begin!

http://www.velonews.com/race/int/articles/9488.0.html

The much-anticipated battle of the sprinters finally materialized in stage 3 of the Ruta del Sol on Tuesday as Alessandro Petacchi (Milram) pipped world champion Tom Boonen (Quick Step) in the final dash to the line.

Petacchi took the 174.1km stage from Cabra to Cordoue in just under four hours, with Boonen second and Graeme Brown third in the same time.

Spaniard Carlos Garcia Quesada (Unibet) retained the overall lead.

Also, just because we were talking about the Ale-Jet bike and Zabel Bike in an earlier thread, whilst the rest of the team is on Cristallos, Zabel and Ale' are both on custom C-50's....

Rombauts points out that while most of the team will be riding aboard this frame, there are a few riders whose measurements don't quite fit the Cristallo: Petacchi, Zabel, Simone Cadamuro, Elio Rigotto and Fabio Sacchi require custom-made C-50s, and not surprisingly, messrs Petacchi and Zabel receive a little bit of special attention with airbrushed Jet and bald eagle motifs around the headtube.
