When you get a set of these one of them has a 3 stop lever and the other has a rotating threaded barrel. Which one goes on which side of the bike? I think I knew once, but on a ride today, one of my buds suggested I had them reversed. I have the lever one on the left for adjusting the front d.

I dont think it matters but usually you want the adjuster to route the cable under the downtube. That would put the one with the lever on the right.

i prefer the rotating barrel for both side...more precise adjustment than 3 clicks

I use the rotating barrel for the RD.

How you want to route the cables is your choice.

They are designed to on one way unless you put them on upside down.

Didn't those come with bar ends? Why did shimano do this? The lever always seemed odd.

The campy ones are easier to turn while riding in my experience.

They are are the Dura Ace version. Shimano also offers a more basic L/R threaded pair.

Barends had the rotating knob on each side, type..DA STI had the lever but they stopped coming with STI levers with 9s, I believe..they can still be bought, sourced tho..
