I know the recommended max psi is 45, but it seems like a lot of people go above. Good idea? Bad idea? Seems like a pretty good value, but I'd wanna be able to run 700x28 tires at ~65-70psi. I'm not a heavy dude (155lbs), so it's probably ok?

should be just fine...I never figured out why rims have a rating anyway...the pudding is in the bead seal....maybe one of our experts will elaborate???

I put Hutchinson Secteurs on them (tubeless) and the tension drop was too much. I have to rebuild my wheels to different rims. I don't know what it would be like with standard clinchers. If you already have the rims I would call Stan's up and get their opinion. This way you get it straight from the source.

There's a guy at my local bike shop who kept blowing tires off of his Iron Cross rims - not sure of the exact psi but it was below 80. He wasn't around when I was talking to the owner and everyone was having a good laugh at the number of times he ended up with Stan's all over him. For that reason I bought the Alpha 400's. I put some Sectors on there and they held just fine at 100 psi plus (not that I'd ride them that firm - the Sectors are really sweet in the mid-80's).

Dude the Secteurs are sweet at 60psi and less. They don't feel slow at all and the ride is sublime. 80s is way too high for a 28mm tire.

I am running Knards on mine at 25PSI with tubes. Anyone gotten Knards to work tubeless on an ironcross?
