View Full Version : Colnago C-60 Demo

Savile Road has this Colnago C-60 which was built for demo rides. It's a 54, in Colnago sizing, just call to make an appt.
Since many of you have owned other C models it would be great to hear your opinion.

Nice frame, always liked Colnago but.....I hear it crying from here....scam/spamm/slam??? Yikes.

The Sram Force 22 is working really well... I can't budget Super Record EPS (which would be ideal) for a demo bike but I will check one of the UK Gray Marketeers for best price. .)

We had a Colnago demo event recently and they were all Shimano. Prolly because the same reps were reps for Shimano...

Despite being Italian, I associate Colnago with Shimano, not Campy, because of the Mapei and Rabobank teams.

It's not red, it's force, no need for SR EPS although Athena EPS but Chorus, if ya can get force, you can get Chorus.

Hope yer not 'boycotting' Campagnolo because of the UK foolishness cuz they do the same with shimano and squam.

Just pulling your chain, I know the slam reps like to give this stuff away, at least my local guy 'tried' with me but.....

Wonder if they going to use UT cranks or the BB30 foolishness from Campagnolo?

Dunno why I dont see colnago getting off the lugs design for a very long time. Easier to costumize that way. QC is better IMO too.

The C-60 disc is ready for production and expected by the end of this year.

Here's photo from Eurocar Team with a C-60 being set up for the Giro.

I would say that the Europcar Colnago/Campagnolo bikes are the most advanced, high functioning, bikes in the pro peloton.
Electronic shifting whether it's Campy or Shimano is where it's at. How many other teams are riding a handmade frame that can be custom for each rider?

Huh? Very curious. The peloton and my personal experience shows this stuff works very reliability.

The only thing Ernesto 'prefers' is the €, IMHO. He does nothing unless there is a payday involved, like any good businessman. If he had a strong druthers toward shimano, EuropCar would be using Di2. BUT at least no scam.

all the best results were done with Shimano.
probably you have to ride a Shimano group set.

Hope so, shimano is over 15 times the size of Campagnolo with a correspondingly large sponsorship budget BUT shimano's results are not 10 times the number of Campagnolo equipped teams. Must be embarrassing.

Last year's Giro? (Not EuropCar but still, the premier Grand Tour). Besides, the best results were a rider, not a group or a frame.

With a legion of mechanics and trucks full of spares, these like new bikes each day better work. Unless you are Schlek with sram mm .

Rather walk than use shimano or splam. I'll send ya a pic of my tattoo.

No final word, but there are innuendos that Sarto is building custom look-a-like frames for some top riders, and possibly a team. Its supposed to be one of their specialties.

Didn't Dario build for Indurain and of course, Hampsten's frame.

Sarto and some others as well....The game is the same as always, but the methods are increasingly sophisticated....

These Pro carbon look-a-like frames show the expertise of the carbon builders. Would guess they are using tube shapes originally designed for monocoque frames or frame sub-assemblies, and using them in tube to tube construction.

I offered the Colnago C-60 for a demo to remove a lot of speculation. I've ridden the bike and have my opinion but unless others have experienced the ride or at least seen it in person there is no point in a discussion about the quality and value.

There may be no point but this is a bike forum after all. We discuss quality and value of numerous frames which have not been ridden by all. Not everyone has access to a demo so some purchases will be based on perceived value and quality. I'm sure you won't say no to a sale from a client few thousand miles away, who did not have a test ride.

You're right and there are a good number of Paceliners that live close enough to my shop to take advantage of the offer. Their first hand opinions would make a discussion much more interesting.

If you want to ship that thing up to MA and crush it down a couple sizes, I'd be happy to test it out and elevate this discussion. I am a weight weenie at heart but could care less about it here.

On the way home from finishing up today's ride, stopped by my local shop to check out the Colnago demo being held and was able to touch and feel a C60 frame. The rep said he was going to have this frame built up for the demo but it ended up selling a couple days ago and it was the only one he had available.
The frame tubes are massive compared to my C59 and this satin finish grey looked very cool!
