He and his wife are neighbor's of my father-in-law in Princeton, NJ. He was a very pleasant and friendly guy.

In the mid 80's, Benchley wrote a satire of Reagan era politics entitled Q Clearance. If you can find it, it is a terrific, funny, satirical novel. It skewers the presidential staff, Soviet spies, and gender politics in a hilarious fashion.
