I really like the look of this jersey, but $295 is beyond the pale. Anyone who has one care to disagree?

If you want just the jersey, and you're a size L, I believe there's one for sale in the classifieds for $130 if no one bought it between lunchtime and now.

Otherwise, as mentioned, $295 gets you the gillet and the jersey, and is still a pantload of money.

I disagree.... About the price

Everyone I know who has one likes the jersey. As far as cost, when you consider that the msrp of most of Rapha's jerseys is in high $100's, and the msrp of most of Rapha's gilets (with one "l") is in a similar price range, then the msrp of $295 for the brevet jersey and vest is not necessarily an outrageous price. I just noticed that the long sleeve version of the jersey (with vest) is on sale for $230, which is a pretty good deal in Rapha terms.

And FWIW, my Rapha gilet is one of the most useful, and used, pieces of apparel I have. So if that helps at all ease the price...

I can't afford something or think it's really expensive. I'll just come here and complain about it.

It's like other Rapha jerseys but with more/bigger pockets and a gilet. I like the extra storage for longer days.

OP,

No...

I wouldn't argue the point

I have zero interest in that short sleeve jersey primarily because it is sportwool. Once the temps hit 65d+ that material is just too hot for me and limits usage to november-april which may or may not be short sleeve weather. Comment also applies to the rapha classic and club jerseys.

The LS brevet OTOH is a great piece and IMHO superior to the standard LS because of the additional pockets and slightly longer sleeves. On sale with vest for $230 is the way to go.

One thing about the rapha pieces...they wash and wear over multiple seasons with little degradation. I have a pair of classic bibs that look and feel the same four years later. so take the amortized cost and suddenly it is not as expensive as seems. Initially yes, but the stuff lasts a long time and if you decide to bail, there is a secondary market here to sell.
