Yup. I have a bunch of them. The little pocket on the outer top of the tongue is nice for packing the lock and excess kevlar cord out of the way.

So did I.

Great trail shoe.

Very comfy and light.

The lock system works perfectly, although the one the op highlights looks quite nice as well.

I stocked up on the top end GTX model when REI blew them out for $75 a few years ago. even worn down one of the best all-purpose sports shoes I have owned.

Just like digital watches have ushered in an era where people don't know the difference between "clockwise" and "counterclockwise", those little gadgets will cause future generations to scrunch their faces up when you ask them, "Do you know how to tie your shoes?"

It's a slippery slope of dependency on technology. When the revolution comes, only those with the "old world" skills, will survive...

P.S. Where can I get some?

I prefer these, specifically for triathlons/duathlons, where you need to pull your shoes on quick. You just set them up initially, then no need to ever touch them, no cord to pull, etc.

Tying shoes is a mental challenge for me. :D

Darn I should have come up with these. I hardly ever tie my casual shoes. This would keep me front putting knots on the end of the laces.

I used them for triathlon but never really loved them. Probably works fine if you don't have a high foot/arches. There are speedlaces (http://www.speedlaces.com/)too. Most running shops have some version in stock.

Good for commuter bike shoes with laces and velcro straps. Sometimes you need to leave the office FAST:bike:

i have narrow, high-arched feet...when i adjust so that the shoes feel snug and i have no forefoot/heel movement, the elastic tension is so high my feet go numb!

for me they'd be OK for race-day shoes up to 5K but that's it!

+4 on Salomons. I have 2 pair, one gore tex- which are great in winter, and Amphibious 2's, which are an amazing light hiking/water shoe. I ran down Masada in them. Very steep, loose dirt, sand and rocks, as well sections of stairs, but the Amphibs just stuck and never slipped. Mine are 4 years old and going strong.

With AAA feet I've never had a problem just slipping on regular, laced shoes except for these:

The old Vittoria's with wood soles... loved the fit!
