Ok, so my 14 year old daughter is racing for her high school team.

Today is their first race up Killington Mountain, VT (rte 4 then the access road).

The conversation over breakfast was "so what is your strategy, when will you attack?"

Her response was "dad, a bunch of the Freshman JV girls are planning to form a group and just fall off the back, the juniors and seniors would crush us anyway"

I thought it was priceless...

According to every pro background story in every magazine, they showed up at age 10 wearing sneakers and cut-offs and crushed the 16 year olds wearing Lycra and decided it was fun so...say goodbye to Olympic gold medal hopes and hello to somebody with plenty of common sense.
