These pictures are two recent refinishes that we have done using B Mac Paintworks. Bill McDonald is the former head painter at Serotta and is now working independently. He is located just outside Saratoga Springs.
He will paint any frame and there's a good chance if you have a Serotta or Bedford he probably did the original work.
Bill's craftsmanship is up there with the best and his pricing, while not cheap, is a great value.
Both of these frames were stripped and refinished with new color schemes.
I'm posting this here as an FYI since there are frequent "where can I get my frame repainted" threads.

Bill was the head painter at Serotta for the last 10 (?) years.
So we all know what he is capable of.

Bill has been painting for Bedford and other builders too.

Need a paint job ? .... Bill is worthy of your consideration.

Sorry, this is not a show level quality picture, but I actually do ride the bike, it gets dirty.

. . . and is just now working on getting his business up and running. I had lunch with him this past Friday to discuss how to move forward.

He has been at Serotta these past ten years and painted hundreds of frames, including some pretty extraordinary custom jobs, but he has very few high quality photos of those bikes. He is looking to get as many together as he can to furnish examples of the very nice work he does to go on the website he's working on.

Do you have a Serotta you've bought in the past ten years? Especially any that have really unusual paint work? If you do, Bill would love to get some photos of your frame. PM me or RedRider if you have a frame like this.

Bill does great work folks. Lots of experience. He's done a couple of my Bedfords as well as a couple of my Serottas. Since he is just setting up his shop I bet he can quickly refresh a frame quickly. I think he's going to be a great addition to our comminity!!

Bill repainted 3 frames for me recently and did a phenomenal job. I was fortunate that they were done over the winter and got them back before things tanked at Saratoga. I put a few projects on hold, but will now send them Bill's way.

over the past years with the frames he has painted. He really showed off his skills when he did SPOSKE's CSIs:bike::cool:

My paint patterns and colors are simpler but still excellent

More praise for BMac! I've seen plenty of his work and will certainly send him my business when the time comes.

Do you know if he has access to any of the original decals? Does he have a phone number?

It's no longer available on the Pez website (Charles?) but I found this photo. A close up would show that the lugs and the carbon Zipp crank are red tint clear which shows the carbon weave. It was a spectacular bicycle.
