Anyone here ever do this? If so how was it?

Bumping this to the top hoping someone here has done it or knows someone that has. Thinking about planning a trip for late this summer or next summer depending on availability.
Thanks

I have not done it (couldn't make it work with work schedule) but have friends who have done it multiple times. I guess that kinda answers it! :p

The word I got is it is as advertised. The huts are spartan but nice/functional and well-stocked. The first year they did the basic/advertised route which I gather is a lot of doubletrack. But with a bit of research you can also replace doubletrack with single track and/or longer adventures - what they did on return visits.

Even the standard routes can be big days! And this is real mountain riding. You'll want to be fit, in-shape, and ready to adapt. While the huts are well-stocked, it is not a tour after all.

My friends did the Durango/Moab route. Can't say how they selected that one over Telluride. As you might guess, the route travels through a bunch of different trail types + climates. Again, back to being prepared I guess.

Do it!

Found a couple blog posts for two of their hut adventures.

Thanks

I think the durango to moab offers more single track than the telluride to moab route.

That looks like a great ride. I'd even buy a new mountain bike for that.

I wonder how long I need to wait until my 7 year old can handle it.
