All-City cycles just shared this on Facebook, I like these much better than the old list of "rules".

I enjoyed the glossary :p

Recovery Ride: If someone says they are going on a recovery ride, they are going to try to drop you on every climb. Guaranteed.

So very true.

All group activities centered around physical exertion attract highly insecure people who compulsively one-up anyone and everyone they can.

I have been super guilty of this myself, which is how I can recognize it.

If only we could re-program our brains to turn it on and shut it off when appropriate.

Race day: Appropriate

The other 350 days of the year: NOT appropriate, and everyone thinks you're a dick

Half my business is predicated on matching saddle and tape!!!!!

As Nebby already said, and quoted.

"Recovery Ride: If someone says they are going on a recovery ride, they are going to try to drop you on every climb. Guaranteed."

I laughed my ass off on that one. :)

Seems like sandbagging is getting called out more and more loudly.

12. If you race more than 3 times a year, you are in Sport division. If you podium twice, move up. If you win, move up. Getting dead last in Expert is better than winning in Sport. Getting DFL in Pro is better than winning in Expert. No one cares if you win. We all have to go to work on Monday. Test yourself.

A norcal promoter is calling out sandbaggers by name on Facebook and telling them to cat up or they'll merge fields anyway.

Baggers don't affect my racing personally but it does take a certain kind of fool to sandbag.

11. Support your local bike shop. And bring them food sometimes.

Beer please..cookies and brownies are sweet but shop wrenches like beer, even cheap beer..it doesn't have to be some expensive, made in a basement between 1AM and 1:30AM on Tuesdays only, with chocolate and wheat type crap...just beer.

Like the list..riding bikes is cool but the cool is the ride, not the bike.

I would add that it is the ride, not the bike, and not the rider. Some folks need to relax, not take themselves so seriously, and enjoy the ride.

Murphy? I had to laugh at his last cross race last fall when he was calling out sandbaggers during the actual race: "Dude, if you're that far ahead it's time to cat-up...!"

It is unquestionably about the bike.

Until you hit the first hill.

So many think the opposite…makes me giggle...:)
