The only ones I know of are carbon. If that's what you want, then Zipp.

Shortly after the post I found those as well as the price. You must really know your rims. I looked high and low and Zipp was it and the price was way out of my league. Oh, well it was a project itdea. They bite the dust a great deal it seems. :crap:

don't give up so fast. Back innaday I recall you could get tubular rims without drilling. Anybody? Was that all a dream?

This is a 30 mm deep, alloy rim. Worth a phone call to see if he will sell you just the rim.

DER - Brain cramp, you said Tubular! Disregard.

Thanks for the lead. I'll be calling Mike. It has been busy so far.

I could probably get you a blank rim. That would really make this a project. Do you know any machinists in your area?

nope not a dream, I bought a few off of ebay a while back, an old team manager was selling them off. I use one pair exclusively for hanging tires I'm stretching.
Have no idea what brand they are though.

I appreciate the idea but I don't know any machinists plus I'm not so sure I'd trust a wheel made with a rim drilled by a non-bike person. We do a great many 30 to 50 mph descents around here every ride.

Take care and safe riding.
