Wow! Those look like tactical baggy cargo shorts, only… Breezier.
I cannot imagine having the fantasy lifestyle required to wear that, but then I wear spandex so I'm not really on firm ground here.

It looks like he is wearing lycra shorts under his kilt... What's the point then?

Oh, that's just the tip of the iceberg:

And etc.
I have actually toyed with the idea of a Sportkilt for a while. Seems better than hanging around in moist bibshorts after a ride.
Great for commuting! An extra tube and some tools would fit perfect in the cargo pocket.

I have said publically that if it were socially acceptable I would wear kilts. They seems like they would be unbelievably comfortable to me.

I'm fine with some Hanes or Underoos under a Kilt....you've got to have some support. :)
As an aside, there is a gentleman I see around town occasionally who wears a kilt. He has a very formal one he wears to church with his family. My wife and I have both commented that it is very nice. I'm going to have to really consider this...too bad they're already out of my size.

I have worn my kilt often, made in Inverness, Scotland by Ian and Duncan Chisholm(same last name/clan as me). A proper kilt is about 12 yards of wool, heavy. There are some lighter weight ones. BUT when a Scot is asked 'what do wear beneath your kilt?', Your shoes, of course.

My marketing class at CU helped formulate the introductory offering of the Utili-Kilt. I think it was about the first kilt marketed in the US (especially for construction workers), and that was in about 2001.

how do you know what clan an American belongs to?
put your hand up his kilt and if you feel a couple of quarter-pounders, he must be a mcDonald...

I really like kilts. (I don't water them, but I think they look great when worn properly. And if you think they're effeminate, ask anyone who was ever on the receiving end of a Highland regiment attack if they agree. But if you're going to rock the kilt look, rock it all the way with a wool full sized over-the-shoulder kilt. None of this a util-a-kilt stuff and nonsense.
And if you aren't Scottish and don't want to misappropriate someone else's clan identity, somebody has determined an "official" tartan for each state. Really.

They"re called skirts, unless one lives in the U.K. Nothing wrong with wearing a skirt, just call it what it is..

Exactly. Or see what happens when they wear a safety harness, step over a barbed wire fence, get too close to a spinning PTO, etc.
Definitely not OSHA approved.

You forgot the ever-popular Utili-Kilt...

They were selling them all-over the Highland Games last year.
I prefer the more traditional... In my family's plaid of course.
