I keep finding myself going back to this IF Crown Jewel build.

There's a balance about this thing that just seems sooo right...

Groovy frame color, and a workmanlike component set, without color bling. What's not to like? :D

Not trying to break any forum rules, but if you ride a 56cm I might be selling a similar frameset in a few weeks. I love the bike but I picked up a Kish titanium that should be back from a refinish shortly. I've always wanted a titanium bike and I've already got too many that I don't ride enough. Here it is built up.

The OP's size, color, and local...you've got to go for it!

Indeed! That is more than coincidence here. This IF had to cross your path one day!

Superb. I would have a very hard time resist this if I were local.

Ditto- my 56cm is also going on the block soon, only because I found a screaming deal on a titanium Indy Fab, which I've always wanted to try out.

I've wanted a Crown Jewel since 1998 when my shop-mate got one for college graduation. I think they were only about $1200 then.
They are gorgeous frames. My two year plan is to save for one, maybe a metallic green one...

You guys would make good drug dealers! :bike:

I suppose I'd better be careful or else my admiration could be construed as a contract to buy (before sending a deposit.)

I actually have a Salsa LaCruz that is very similar - except for the silver bits and Shimano 105 group.

While rhumps bike being local and for sale is a crazy coincidence...since I'm already riding Ti, I suppose I'll keep it to window shopping for the time being, but thanks for the encouragement...:hello:

Since steel is the 'do one thing and do it well', is how IF got started, their Crown Jewel is just that, a jewel in the frameset maker's crown. A bit of a shame they have rolled over for 'gadget' frames..mixed materials but it is a biz, with a new owner and location..so...

If i had money that would be mine. I haven't ridden in some time and that is the machine to make a guy's heart swoon.

I am interested in an IF Crown Jewel in 56 if someone is parting with a frame set.

I'd recommend looking at Desalvo Cycles out of Oregon. Hard to beat his prices and quality on custom steel.

I met Mike DeSalvo at NAHBS and was impressed with both the man and his craft. He seemed like he would be a great builder to work with...

Mike used to and perhaps still welds the speedvagens. That's an endorsement fr sure

And I love that IF. If anyone has one in a 58, let me know.
