I have an older set of tubular Hed aero wheels w deep rim section, alloy braking section, has a threaded hub. Any ideas on what to do to bring these up to date with my Sram cassettes?

Don't think there is a way to go to cassettes. Freewheels only. 8s maybe if you're feeling dangerous.
Throw them on a vintage bike!

Rebuild rear with a new hub....
or re-space, re-dish, and race em at the track
Otherwise, they're pretty well worthless except to collectors

OK thanks, I thought I could rebuild w new hub. Current hub is 36 hole Ultegra, Hed skipped every other hole in a very standard looking Shimano hub.

Yes, I see Tiagra hub available from Sheldon Brown $45.00 Open to suggestions... I have new set of Conti tubulars barking in a box that they want to come out and play.
