I have acquired a Vicious Cycles 29er and have decided to make it my only MTB (ie, sell my 26er) For now, I will be using the rigid Vicious fork.

I am going to rebuild some wheels using some lovely XTR disc hubs and was assuming that I'd use 29er rims, but now that I think about it, perhPs I could use 27.5" rims since I still haven't committed to tires.

What will happen to the performance of this bike with 27.5" wheels? It is maybe a 2007/8 frame or so, so there isn't tons of tire clearance. Am I better off just sticking with 29er wheels?

Thanks for your simple explanations :)

Yes, you're better off sticking with 29er wheels. Your bb will be too low and your chainstays, though not too long, would be unnecessarily long for 27.5" wheels.

In either case we can hook you up with some killer rims or wheels!

Cheers,
KP

OK, I suppose that answers that :)

Kirk, I am 99% sure the rims are going to be TL28s from Cafe Roubaix!
