Merckx Faema seat and bar tape color

What do you all think is the best color combination looks wise for the saddle and bar tape on a Faema Merckx? I'm not necessarily looking for stock, just best looks. I'm usually a black saddle, black tape guy, but here I'm thinking white/white or maybe white/red or red/white. Thoughts?

I used to think the answer to that questions should always be black/black...but I have been trying to get more creative recently. I've got a black saddle and red tape on a predominantly white with red accents bike and I like the look.

black saddle / white tape looks good, but if you actually plan on riding the bike you have to factor that it will soon be black saddle / brownish smudgy tape

I am not a fan of the red/red like the first pic though.

That's actually my red/red bike above, picture was of the initial build. Second time around I used darker red housing with red ferrules, a Concor saddle and matching leather bar tape (over the original gel tape, wanted a more padded feeling than I got from bare leather), and red stripe Vittor Open Corsa's in place of the more garish Specialized Turbo's.

I'm obviously into the red/red look, but in person this bike is simply stunning:

I like the red/red but I think browns and tans might work pretty well.

If not straight black, then maybe black/black with cable housings that pick up one of the minor colors in the Merckx logo--yellow?

Judging from the photos of rrcardr's Merckx, I don't think you could do better than a red saddle and bar tape. That Merckx is simply stunning, perhaps the nicest I have seen.
