7 years ago today, I married my lovely wife on a bike ride. It was organized to be the same ride that we first met on. We were expecting 20 or so fellow cyclists to join us, including the judge that would marry us at the halfway mark.
The morning broke with rain and lots of it. It was still raining as we neared the starting point. We were worried no one would show, not even the one witness required, but when we entered the parking lot, it was packed, more than we even expected.
We took off in the rain, but the sun came out almost immediately and it turned into an awesome day of riding and fellowship.

It takes guts to get married on April 1.
Congratulations on your anniversary!

Best if they contain a grain (a bushel perhaps) of truth.

Something like this though is just completely impossible.

For immediate release: Spectrum Cycles Universal closes after 38 years. Founder and principal Tom Kellogg was heard by sources to say that he and Jeff were no longer willing to fake their building skills and to pull the wool over so many customers eyes for decades. "It is finally time that we told the truth." Adding that "I just could not go on pretending that we know what we are doing." So The Barn has been converted into a coffee shop. Tom has told sources that he thought he would have an easier time pretending that his coffee is OK than he has had pretending that he can build bicycle frames.

Not cycling related, but my son texted me and said he got a call on his cell phone from someone named Mr. Baer who was trying to reach me regarding a work matter. I dialed the number that my son sent me and asked for Mr. Baer.
The person who answered at the Philadelphia Zoo hung up on me.
My kid got me good.
We immediately played the same prank on my wife/his mother.

We are at the end of the day and nothing yet has topped this classic from nearly 30 years ago. It is one of the greatest ruses of all time, written by a master, George Plimpton.

Some of you probably remember the video that I friend and I did a few months ago were we won 3rd place in a contest for Zenni Optical.
Well for April 1st, they pretended to offer the joke glasses that we made for the video. As of this morning the link is still there. Take a look and click order to see more.
