Any difference in '03 and '06 Record cranksets? Are these compatible with current Veloce/Centaur 10 speed?

2003 was still square-taper; either alloy or carbon.

2006 was the first year of Ultra-Torque Hirth-joint cranks and external bearing cups.

Both are compatible with current 10-speed Centaur. The bike I rode on Sunday had an early-2000s Record square-taper alloy crank with Centaur 10-speed bits. Works great.

Teeny point but 2007 was first year of UltraTorque but 10s is 10s, all completely inter compatible. With 9s as well. Some issues with some 11s, like Powershift Athena and EPS, positional front ders.

Funny, I thought so too, but Campagnolo's website claims 2006. Maybe they are referring to first use in the ProTour or something.

Sometimes Campagnlo product introduction 'Gray'...intro was late 2006 was actual groups with were 2007 groups. What impressed me was how they did 'em all, Veloce thru Record in one year.

Thanks. Are current Veloce/Centaur brifters compatible with early 2000 derailleurs?

Thanks. Are current Veloce/Centaur brifters compatible with early 2000 derailleurs?Yes, they are, but they fall under the TUTU(*) clause, so I don't have any personal experience.

10 speed is 10 speed for Campy. It should all play together fine.

Somewhat under shift, new rear ders work with older shifters more better.

It's counter-balanced by the fact they are far and away the most comfortable hoods I've ever used.

Care less how they look and keep your hands happy.

^ True dat.

Was playing around with some Record non-shifter brake levers recently, and found I don't have fond memories of them anymore. Should probably list them ....
