Took the coupled Kogswell to the desert. Plane trip and bike assembly flawless. Kogswell on 200 mile of desert road flawless.

Bad news was leaving empty hard case on back seat of car while having a happy hour margarita. Probably forgot to lock car door. Finished one drink (I swear) and came out to car devoid of hard case. Yes now someone in the CA desert has a weird square suitcase probably useless to them and worth about $300 to me.

Bike returning to home in the back of someone's station wagon.

Besides that, first coupled bike travel experience a complete A+.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My 1rst Bike Friday came with a Carlton suitcase. My 2nd with a Samsonite of the same dimensions. You can probably find a more than suitable Samsonite on the web for less than what S &S charges. Just make sure the dimensions are the same as your original case. Good luck!

Wow that is a bummer! And I bet the thief was plenty puzzled by the empty case.

I use the soft S&S case. It is a little cheaper, seems to protect the bike fine, and has nifty backpack straps. Also it crushes pretty small for storage in the trunk when not in use.

Glad your travel bike worked so well. I love mine.
