I was inspired with another ron cooper that is a twin to mine...http://www.lfgss.com/thread90080.html
most coopers are lugged but this is one of the few fillet brazed and monostays. I was also inspired by the color and wanted a modern version of British Racing Green.

I had built up the bike with downtube shifting just to see how the bike rode, but I'm putting campy 10s on it and building it as a fair weather weekend all round go fast bike. Its not going to be a vintage build. With light weight carbon tubular wheels and other lightweight parts, I think the bike will come in around 17 pounds...good enough for decent speed on most of the hills in the sf bay area.

It looks great. Who did your paint?

^ My question as well. Nicely done.

FWIW, RC did many filet brazed and mono-stay frames in his last 20 years. More than a few ended up in the Bay Area.

I do know of a few monostay ron coopers in the bay area and I know tony still has a couple ron coopers at the bicycle odyssey. Allan Wanta did the respray, I know his name has appeared on this site more than a few times, it looks great in the photos...I should see it in person tomorrow.

attached is a photo of the steel fork and a photo of the headtube. as you can tell, color doesn't look so good when photographed indoors with artificial lighting.

Cool monostay, rad paint, and I love that you're putting modern stuff on this bike!

fedex didn't show up until after lunch...the color is more muted than the photos, which better matches the intent! I think all the new digital cameras tend to over saturate the color and brightens all the images, which makes the photos look good, but not accurate. Wanta did really nice job! here's a couple of photos without paint. I'll get some photos once I hang some parts.
