Probably cost you $3 mil a year to maintain. It doesn't say anywhere in the description that it actually flies.

Never mind that, check out the XF84 Thunderscreech and its capacity to inflict noise damage.

That's really a bargain and like the B-52, very old design but still in active units in the Soviet Union(oooppsss, Russia, I got confused for w minute-get it?).

Intercepted many while flying in the USN..mostly in and around the sea of Japan and Northern pacific(also a lot of Badgers)..not many in the MED..those mostly Badgers and a few Mays, Coots.

Interesting but it looks like it's aluminum so it's really uncomfortable on rough pavement (or in rough air.)

In fact, the description says it doesn't fly in its current condition.

I've always been fascinated by Russian airplanes. They evolved differently from US and European aircraft and have some interesting (and not all bad) characteristics. When I started working in aviation about 20 years ago I worked in ground handing in Zurich and we did ground services for many eastern airlines operating Russian airplanes. I have been inside many but have never flown on one.

This aircraft takes a crew of about 4-6 to operate and it is unlikely that even a well-heeled buyer could find a properly trained crew or receive an operator's permit in a western nation, even under the "Experimental" designation.

This is for a museum and will likely never be flown again.

They're the fastest propellor driven aircraft ever made AFAIK.

Since the west is now open to eastern Europeans, I have flown with two former east bloc pilots, one Romanian and one Russian. They have both been exceptionally good pilots and flew in their nation's militaries in their previous lives. Both have time in fighter aircraft and heavy transport airplanes.

it's amazing what Soviet-era military hardware you can get your hands on. There are quite a few flight ready Russian MiGs in the USA. Celebrity Auto-Exec "Maximum" Bob Lutz has one.

Unlike US military aircraft, Russian aircraft, either from Russia or one of their customers, are available if ya got enough $. I actually met Victor Belinko. Good guy.
