Ok, taking a break at the moment, obviously. The bike is staying inside.

turns out for once the bike lane was easier. never plowed, so just snow. the roads had been plowed once and refroze, so were treacherous at points. faster than walking, more fun than driving.

Fell flat on my ass just walking in the snow in the street, there's black ice underneath the fluff in my VA suburb. There are just a few days where riding a bike is stupid, but this is one of those days.

I went outside. Saw that I needed to shovel a path out to the car to be able to get to it to chop the ice off.

Shoveling that 6"+ off the ice just to get to the car then drive on it?

Unfortunately my shop is closed today. I'd be working on my snow bike, but I think I left one of the tools I need at work. :mad:

I suspect I had it a lot easier than folks in the 'burbs. my commute is only 1-1/2 miles (if that, I have walked it in 25 minutes) so the risks were minimal. I could always just get off and walk. there's just something great about just doing it. Trust me, with a 3 and 1-1/2 year old, I don't actually do dumb things anymore.
