Compass Tires

Anyone have experience with Compass tires. I am looking for a set of 700X30s and saw the Compass Stampede Pass. Not much info on them around the net and hoped someone here has some.

I'm behind the times.

I finally picked up a set of Grand Bois Cerf 26s for my John Hollands.

These Compass tires do look tempting though.

I guess that would explain the lack of info... and yes you are correct they are 700X32. Curious as to who makes them.

I was looking for a set of Grand Boise when I saw these on Compass's web site. I did think it was a bit funny that I had not remembered seeing them there before.

I'd assume they're top quality. Jan is kind of obsessive about getting things dialed, and if they're phasing out certain models of Grand Bois tires to accommodate these, they should be excellent. I have my eye on a pair of Babyshoe Pass tires when my Extra Legers eventually wear out. Sounds like they should perform even better than the EL.

Pretty sure the Compass tires are almost identical to GB tires. Compass tires have the same casing and a similar tread except for the edging on most models. Panaracer manufactures both labels' tires.

The Compass 650bx40something does seem to improve in the GB Hetre by using a thin herring bone tread instead of the thick linear Hetre tread.
Still I bet the difference is minimal.
IMO The best thing about Jan's new tires is that they are also offered in black.
