Hey guys,

I consider you more knowledgable in these matters than I, so I was wondering if any of you knew which bar readily available today (to fit today's modern ahead stems) most closely resembles the shape of cinelli 66's.

I've got quite big hands and have a set of these on one of my training bikes (inherited from my dad, it's no a fixed gear and around 25 years old) and really wanted a set for on my new race bike. Bonus points go for finding a silver bar that fits the specs...

Or does anyone know an ahead stem that comes with a 26.4 (or 26.2mm can't rmember which) clamp diameter?

I've spotted that the Easton EA70 pro are said to come in 66 bend...

Deda Deep Drops. I can't say if the Eastons are more like the 66s or not, but the Deda bars are awful close. One thing is that they do have more reach than the Cinelli 66s. I like the 66s better, but the Deda Deep Drops are very good.

I had a similar problem finding replacements for my Cinelli 64s (shallow/traditional), and ended up with some ITM Pro 260s (26.0mm), Ritchey WCS Classics (31.8mm), and Deda Newtons (31.8mm).

It seems as though most companies make traditional bars, but, despite a substantial amount of the bars being in the pro peleton, there's hardly any in the shops.

links to just about every company are onthe Weight Weenie list

Cipollini always had big drops, so, if you can figure out what bars these are.....http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech.php?id=photos/2004/tech/features/sanremo/MSR04_11

Got my data sheets out of stuff I have measured. {for frame design etc}
C 66 16mm deeper than the Deda deep round bar. {Cinelli 6 was quite a deep bar}
Deda forward reach was 5mm more than the 66.
Measured off actual bars not brochures and with the flats on my surface plate. Squares and height verniers etc.
More power to power to Deda for still having three profiles to choose from.
How about a 65!!!?????? Great for trackies riding madisons etc. Oh those were the days. T :) o hell with the funky carbon crap! :butt:

Gimondi's by 3ttt, your right, sweet bar. I used them when I banged around our local banks and hand slinging partners that weighed 15kgs more than me.
let me tell you when I was a rider..........................................

What about the horrible Cinelli bars that were axed, like 63's and 68's? :)

I think Hinault used Cinelli 63's for a while. 68's were a contender for ugliest bars ever. They were that deep you'd drag your knuckles on the road when in the drops.
