It looks like one of Frankie's bikes from 95/96. I'd guess that this was Ti, but the welds look horrendous.

Interesting bike!

Looks like a Litespeed-built Merckx from the mid 90's. Nice..

I wonder what the full history is.

EXACTLY! However, the welds look terrible!!!

I wonder what the full history is.

It would fun to know given the history of the Andreau's in general.

Just saw another Caloi billed as a Frankie A. at our Twin Cities Bike swap.

Good gravy, how many are there?

Edit: I am pretty certain the frameset I saw this morning was the one on ebay.

A local buddy has one of his TT bikes. Lugged Max with 650c fork as I recall.

Most litespeed that bore other labels that I've seen had welds like that. They were less sloppy with stuff bearing their name.

I'm not seeing that, what is so horrible about them?

They look sound, but the seat cluster and dropout welds are not what I would call pretty. They are not as consistent as one would expect on a top shelf titanium frame.

It wouldn't keep me from riding it. I would like to see it with 9000 and 9000 hubs laced to something like a tb14 or reflex rim. Feel free to call me a heretic. I would still plan on a 7400 stem, post and headset.

I had a Lemond GAN team Ti bike made by Litespeed around 1993. The welds were "industrial"-looking at best and the DS seatstay snapped at the weld on the dropout due to oxygen contamination. There was slight discoloration and a few tiny surface pinholes in the faulty weld. Aside from that problem it was a great bike and Im sure the weld failure was an anomaly although there was no warranty sine it was a custom team bike. Interestingly, Litespeed even denied building it.

The welds (especially around the seattube) look really thick and uneven. It's not typically something that you would see on even a Litespeed of that era.
