A Coworker pulled this from his barn and brought it to me to research/ sell/ keep. It's around a 52 so too small for me to keep. I thought I'd share pics here and see if anyone has heard of this builder as Google has not. Will likely be up in the classifieds as soon as I get the matching wheel set later this week.

Sweet bike. But man those Modolo "speedy" brakes scare me. They were speedy. Alas even when trying to slow down.

Looks great for having been in a barn for 20 years.

Did you search cicli fassi? I get some stuff but work 'puter won't translate.

Sweet bike.

I should clarify that this barn is actually a large garage... My buddies mother in law bought the bike in Italy. Judging by the condition of the original brake pads, it hasn't been ridden much...

Any way to know any number your friend could feel happy with??

The railing on that porch is creating an optical illusion. At first glance I swore it had a curved seat tube.

Nice looking bike though.

I raced in stuff like that, everybody happy with 42 and a 19 cog in the climbs and 5 or 7 cogs, now a days if something has less than 9 is crap damm it...

IMHO, I'd sell it just like that, with no clean up. I love clean up work and that's an easy project! It needs nothing but time and elbow grease (and beer/music).

Truly Fassi-nating. It looks to be more of a 54 than a 52. Great find and it should clean up very nicely.

A cursory search in Italian revealed that there exists a Cicli Fassi, that may or may not be related to the makers of this beauty as they sell electric bikes, cruiser/urban style. More interestingly, I found a thread very similar to this one in an Italian bike forum: someone found a Fassi somewhere and asked around, and got no answer. A couple of responses requesting pics, and the OP description of the color as "similar to a Bianchi", and that's it.

I've got the wheels in hand and will be putting this in the classifieds soon. Still looking for a few more comparable bikes/ sales but I've got a pretty good idea of what I think its worth.

lucky find!

umm, might be worth taking off that headset and selling separately.
ebay $$$$$ (http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOLD-ANODIZED-COLNAGO-ALLOY-HEADSET-ENGLISH-THREADED-1-THREADED-/310799061552?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item485d115230)

I stumbled across that today when I was looking for a gold CK headset on the bay.

Is your friend looking for the right home for the bike or he doesnt care what will happen to the bike?

Might be worth taking off that headset and selling separately...

All that seller's items are, um, optimistically priced. Check out the $275 toe straps.

Thanks for the PM Ultra. Unfortunately he doesn't care where the bike ends up and he is not a cyclist. I, on the other hand, do care and I want it to end up in good hands. I'm not going to part it out as I'm not in the business of flipping or trying to profit.

Sweet bike. But man those Modolo "speedy" brakes scare me. They were speedy. Alas even when trying to slow down.

I had some like that on a Bertoni, and I agree. Replaced the pads with some salmon Kool-Stops though, and they work great.

Also tried to stretch some new Cane Creek hoods over the brake levers, but it didn't work out as well for me. What's your secret?
