I'd like to introduce my forum pals to my new baby daughter; Sydney Marie Musgrave. :D She was born on Tuesday the 24th at 8:17pm.
Here's the geo... She was exactly 8lbs, takes after her father at 22.5 inches long, and again like dad, has long feet (The nurse taking her footprint a few minutes after birth said that she's got the longest feet she's seen...) She's a beautiful girl, and is the spittin' image of her mother in the face.
My wife is hard-core. She really wanted to have a natural child-birth, so we took Bradley-Method classes together. She was in labor for just over 25 hours, pushing for 5 of those (that was MP ;) ), but managed to bull her way through it and didn't take any drugs (not even an IV for hydration, she drank 2 gallons of water). I'm looking for a new nickname for Heather(Mom), something that reflects her toughness; any suggestions... At 42 weeks, Sydney was a full two weeks late and we were scheduled for induction that morning, which neither of us wanted, but thankfully she started labor on her own that evening (Sydney must take after dad...procrastinator)
Sydney had some fluid on her lungs when she made her grand-entrance, so she spent the first 16 hours in the nursery under careful watch, and we had to spend three days in the hospital just to make sure, but the Doc says she's an extremely healthy girl (thanks to Mom's careful diet) and we got to bring her home on friday night.
Mom and Dad are exhausted, having slept only a total of 7 hours the first three days (I never knew that hospitals empty room trash at 5:30 in the morning...) :crap: We're starting to get onto a schedule now though, and she's a complete joy.
Here's a couple pics, the second one is of Dad after not sleeping for a couple of days...
Hey thanks for lookin'
