February is already off to a way better start than "arctic vortex" January. 40 degrees and loving every drop of sunshine.

anyone else get out from under the grip of the dismal cold we've been trudging through in the northeast?

Got 48 moderately hilly ones in this morning. Plan for another ~50 tomorrow. Surprised I felt pretty good for having had such little time in the saddle these last 2 months.

First century of the year, so nice to be able to ride without dealing with wind. Last few weekends were miserable.

It was low 50s today in Cincinnati. Had to work in the morning but was able to hop on the bike around 1 o'clock and rode 44 miles. Weather was just about perfect with low wind but some sections of the route were wet so my bike was coated with lots of white powder. Forgot my water bottles and didn't feel like stopping so I rode 44 miles without a sip of water. I felt great though. Cheers!

Partly cloudy, 60 degrees at noon. Stiff south wind was a bear, but who cares. Natchez Trace at sunrise! (warmest hour of the day Sunday...)

It's 19° with bluebird skies and was a wonderful afternoon to get out on the fresh snow on the fatbike.

It's almost spring.

No riding for me. It was actually a great ski day here in VT, especially considering there is very little natural snow on the ground.

Good to hear some guys got a ride in.

Still no rain to speak of here. Unless the skies open up this month and next, we're in deep trouble.

Love this bike - the PDW fenders and new to me wheels and tires and a new winter rig.
Cold Spring Harbor in the background, mostly iced over.

Yep. Snow shoveling today followed by some very nice XC skiing at Blue Mounds with my wife.

We're not enjoying the warmth the folks out East are getting… 20 degrees today.

Which felt kinda warm, actually. Colder tomorrow (13 F).

Here in Norcal the riding is terrific. But Ari's right--the prognosis for water this summer is dismal. These hills should be bright green. Rationing and fires in our future I fear. Shades of the drought of 1977...

Did 62 miles around Atlanta, the weather was near perfect with cloudy skies and about 55 degrees by the time we finished. There was some ice left on the road from the "snowstorm" the previous week, but managed to get around safely though the bike was filthy by the end. Gave the bike a nice bath after I got home.

It made it to 60F here yesterday! My daughter saw me putting on my jersey and knew what that meant so my ride turned into a trailer tow.

She's 17 months. I started taking her for rides when she started walking (around 10 months). Yeah, she loves it. However, she was digging that bridge and the people on it yesterday so it was rough getting her back in the trailer. "Nothing to see here folks. I'm not abducting this screaming, kicking kid."

She talks and sings to herself back there all while enjoying the changing scenery. It's pretty adorable.

45 miles in 45d. Hopped on Gimbels and bailed at 22 since they went extra-long, rode down Middle Patent to BB to Round Hill all the way down to the traffic circle with Lake. Then up Lake, across to North, up North back and forth on Lower and Upper Cross. Cheese steak in Banksville and then rolled home.

Gonna snow tomorrow...

Tuesday night mtb should be in effect this week!

Have not ridden outside since before Thanksgiving. Pushing 100+ inches of snow for the season so far which is almost 40 more than normal with no real end in sight. Can't remember the last time we were above freezing here. Is certainly going to help the lake levels come up nicely though. Roads either packed with ice or pot holes. Will be sticking to the trainer for some time yet. Bummer.

To all of you that can ride this time of year I am jealous but I do love winter and a day of this is as good as a day on the bike. I am lucky that I can do this straight out of my back yard. My youngest, who is 3, loves being carted around in the pulk more so than being pulled in the bike trailer.

Angry, I have 2 kids and my youngest is still small enough to be trailered (he is 3). They love the trailer but the key is to make stops often enough to keep them interested in the journey. Also a good supply of snacks and drinks in the trailer goes a long way to a happy passenger. They workout is great and experience with your child is amazing. Just ignore the yells of 'go faster daddy' when you are grinding up a hill.

The weather in the NW has been pretty decent lately, hovering around 40 degrees with not too much moisture.

Saturday I rode with the local bike shop before peeling off on my own for some solitude. A couple of people flatted along the way and the fog was dense enough to be considered rain. About 40 miles

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff169/72tunaboat/IMG_20140201_100241_895.jpg

Sunday I got out for 45 miles before the football game.

My son and I got out late yesterday. He's never been to the North end of the Centennial trail, so we loaded up the Tandem and drove to Arlington. It's about 17 miles round trip.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff169/72tunaboat/IMG_20140203_134935_906-1.jpg

We got up to end of the trail, where the red barn is. The barn was built in 1908.

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff169/72tunaboat/IMG_20140203_143625_059-1.jpg

The temperature was a bit cooler than I expected, and Thomas had some pretty cold toes when we got to the barn. Luckily, someone installed this nifty "foot insulator" dispenser. They might not look like much but the kept his feet warmer on the return trip. Chuck Taylors are great shoes, but don't work to well at 34 degrees and 14mph.

Thanks Justin. I've had it for a year and half. The builder is from Snoqualmie, Wa. He only built 35 bikes during the 80s.

Mine was built in 84.
