was researching a new saddle and stumbled upon this innovative seat funded by kickstarter

First thing that caught my eye -- his fit is horrid. Then I notice the knee-out pedaling.

And then he gets to the structure of the saddle itself. Yeah, moving the contact points to soft tissue is a GREAT idea... NOT!

Road bike position with locked-out elbows...

This guy is a chiropractor?

Hahaha, this is pretty amusing. Also kind of terrifying--don't know if I'd trust one of those homemade saddles.

I should find a pic of the seat a guy developed and got patented. He wanted me to assist with building the rails. He wanted it under every pro racer in the peloton and bicycle in the world. It was bigger than a tractor seat and shaped like a half moon.

I asked if he had offered his saddle patent to Selle Italia or one of the big manufacturers. He said he had never heard of them.

Found it:

Seems like a great way to concentrate as much weight as possible on as small a squishy surface area as possible -

The middle dingus looks like it would destroy your ability to, um, rise to the occasion.

I'll pass.

And he pedals like a monkey engaged in sexual congress with a football.

The ad speaks of cooling of the male and female parts. That may be good in the summer but this winter ive discovered that its a major draw back of the smp saddle im using. Its incredibly cold and drafty in the winter for the male and female parts.. So much so that im going to tape it shut!

Your skeletal system is for support and structure. Your muscular system is for movement. As a chiropractor, he should know that. The saddle is a joke, although he may not know that yet.

Actually, you know, I'd try one. They're probably crap and I usually poo-pooh such things, but the idea if not the design seems errrr, not totally without merit.

Agree, he rides like a crutched sheep. I wonder if anyone diagnosed mild tracking issues related to the left hip for him...

I'd try it on someone else's bike, but wouldn't bother putting it on mine - it just wouldn't be worth the hassle of getting my saddle back to the original position.
