Anyone here familiar with this frame? What's a new old stock worth with frame and fork only?

Calling all Colnago expert. :)

The Technos tubing had a rider weight limit of 165-170lbs if I remember correctly. Like many of those older steel bikes built with "exotic" tubing they look great on the wall but probably not safe for riding these days.
If you're looking at the one in SF it looks nice and the price is reasonable for a piece of art but if you want to ride vintage Colnago steel find a Master.

I am getting this one,"New 1999 - Mapei team frame. Tecnos model, the lightest steel frame by Colnago.
Perfect - Never built. It's been hanging on my wall for years. Boxed for the last 6 years.
Own a legend - Super team of the 1990's. ''

Haha. Referring to the one on CL?

I think it's overpriced a little.

My accountant keeps reminding me that I'm supposed to sell bikes not buy them for myself but that Mapei frame is sweet. It would look great hanging in the shop. PM me if you want to sell it...

Darn it I am 165lbs so if I do end up buying this frame, I'd better not gain a single pound.

Yuuup! That's the one. What he's asking is one thing, what I am willing to pay is another.

A NOS frame? I wouldn't agree with that. They don't get 'weak' overtime, sitting in a box.

I sold Colnago for a while and the weight limit doesn't ring a bell for me. When imported by Todson and Trialtir...Sold more than a few, and never had any issue with this nor their ti frames(post Bititan)....Carbon, C-40, one issue as in another thread.

However with modern Carbon fiber components one could save weight their
in effect raising upwards the 165 lb. limit

Perhaps Seeing a new lugged steel frame from any good USA builders is around $2000+ the price I paid is a bargain.
But in curtain market could be over priced.

True.... This isn't a new lugged frame though. This is an old lugged frame in unused condition. There's a difference.

Also, you can't really ask eBay prices on craigslist.

If I were the seller id ask for 1100. If I wanted to get 1500 id put it online.

All materials represented in my bike cave, and the one I ride and like the most is my Master. A classic, imo.
