I went a little crazy and spent all of my non-denominational holiday gift rubles on a big ole' package of spare parts from the new Silca. (http://silca.cc/) Woot! We're riding the crazy train to pump nirvana!

Aye, but here's the rub. I wouldn't call the finish on the barrel "patina." I'd call it "crap Italian paint."
So, should I pour even more money into refurbishing this pump? Get is blasted and painted? DIY hammerkote in the driveway?
